Post show - a coffee and cookies reception to meet the authors and artists

The performance will feature:

  • On the Road to Manderlay by Francesca Peppiatt and Donald Flayton

  • On the Rocks by Mark Adamczyk and Donald Nolan

  • The Beached Boat of a Billionaire by John David Nelson and Christopher Dunn Rankin

  • A concert medley of songs by members of the Writers Ensemble of Midwest New Musicals

North Shore B & B (Boats and Beaches), the 2013 Mini-Musicals Project, is the culminating performance for authors in the Midwest New Musicals musical theater writers Core Curriculum. Participating authors create short musicals for a pre-selected ensemble and production team. Each piece will include a lyric image, “muddy puddles,” a line of dialogue, “You better floss, or else!,” and a musical motive, D, Ab, Bb, A, in addition to the theme of “North Shore B & B (Boats and Beaches).”

The music director is Jessica A. Hunt, the stage director is Joan Mazzonelli and the choreographer is Angela Allyn.

The ensemble of performers is Sarah Blevins, Amanda Compton, Zachary Elmassian, Nathan Mittleman and Jasmine Ryan.

Midwest New Musicals is an ongoing forum where lyricists, composers and book writers create and discuss their work. Midwest New Musicals is a resident arm of Light Opera Works, Chicago’s specialists in operetta and musical theater. The Midwest New Musicals is funded in part by very generous individuals
